Default harmonic balancer fell off

I have a 99 grand caravan with a 3.3. The harmonic balancer fell off. I bought a new one to put on and it just slides on the crankshaft. so I took it back thinking it was the wrong one. It was the rite 1. heres my problem it will just spin on the crankshaft. There is not a key or anything. I would assume that it is a press fit put it just slides on. I also bought a repair sleeve but this is way to big for the crankshaft. Please help me fix this. thank you very much

that is the craziest thing I ever heard of. sounds like you just need a new crank and pulley. the pulley IS PRESSED on and requires a special puller to get off. I've had to use A LOT of force to get them off. you definitely have a 1 in a Million problem there. I've owned over 500 3.3/3.8 powered vehicles over the past 20 years... and you are the first I've ever heard of that issue.

should the pulley be tight the whole time when its being pressed on. I can slide it on by hand except for about the last 1/8 on an inch. Do you also know anything about the harmonic sleeve repair. Thanks

no such sleeve repair and every balancer was tight from start to finish. there's even a tool that you're suppose to use to press the balancer on.

can you suggest any way of getting the pulley tight. Maybe a shim in between the 2. Or build it up by welding a little. Maybe even putting it on with some jb weld. Heck I dont Know. I was getting ready to sell it and this happened. Once again Thanks
