Front blower motor - possessed???
I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan 3.0 liter with 180,000+ miles.
A week or so ago the blower motor stopped working entirely. No low speed, no high speed, no nothing. Then it started working again all speeds. And then it stopped again. You get the point.
A year or two ago I replaced the resistor so I doubt that is the problem. I have checked the 10A fuse under the dash and the 40A fuse in the main power box and they test good. I have not checked the relay as I dont know how to do that. Though I did switch it out with a different relay (with same part identification number so I figure it is the same relay) and that did not work.
I swapped out the control module and that did not solve the problem. The module I swapped in was a used one from a local reputable junkyard and they said it tested as working properly. So I dont think the control module is the problem.
I removed the blower motor housing cover to see if the fan would spin freely and it did. A little bit of stuff fell out when I removed the cover including a couple birdseeds and some mouse poop. Not sure if the mouse could have chewed any wiring causing a loose connection or short.
So I now I am back to square one trying to figure out what is causing the blower motor to act the way it has been, which is seeming possessed.
I do appreciate guidance and assistance. I have been maintaining this van for almost ten years and have learned a few things so I will help others if/when I can.

you seem sense-able enough to determine the best course of action. you really don't need someone making all your decisions.
when I fix my stuff, I always use 'experienced' parts because I can't afford to buy anything.
