Default Advice for 2001 Grand Caravan

Van doesn't start. Was working fine up til 1 week ago...no check engine lights or warning lights of any kind. When I tried to start it there was no starter clicking and no lights. I boosted it quite easily. When it was running the gauges fluctuated wildly and about 4 dash warning lights came on (battery, ABS, brake..). I drove it to a service shop, they installed a new battery, still didn't start, and they said it was a PCM that needed replacing. So I had it towed to a Dodge dealership and the mechanic is quite confident it's a BCM. Installed part including a couple of hours of diagnostics is $1300. Is installing a used part advisable? Van has 240,000km's (150,000 miles).

Thanks for your help
