Default Help with weird symptoms...

I have a 93 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L AWD with 180k miles. The fan doesn't come on for some reason and I cannot locate the relay switch location (still looking...). Obviously this makes my van overheat while idling or in traffic. This isn't the problem though...Right after I get the van cooled down (after pulling over of course) to normal temp, I get going and it will consistently cut out and hesitate until I lose so much power I have to pull over again. It acts like it's out of gas, but it's not. Also, right before the engine loses power and cuts out, I lose all oil pressure. At the same time, when I'm trying to start the car, it smells very rich. I've had it towed home about 5 times in the last 2 months and after giving it overnight to cool off, it will start up and drive perfectly fine, except for the very rich exhaust, combined with greyish smoke (just a little and only after an overheating incident)...

As this is our only vehicle for our family of 7, we can't keep having it break down (and it's always me on the side of the road when it's 100 degrees having not much mechanical experience). One more thing...it barely passed smog in January. Here's the readings: 81 out of 82 max at 15mph and 47 out of 48 max at 25 mph only for HC. The other measurements were well within range.

Also, if anyone knows where I can check for the radiator fan not coming on. I tested the fan motor and it was fine. I've checked the first 2 relays on the drivers side fender wall (like the manual and internet sites tell me) and I have 5 more to go. It just won't come on at all and the only time I have any problems is when it overheats. I don't let it get in the red zone (I pull over when it gets about 3/4 to the top). Any suggestions would sure help a broke family with 5 kids to chauffeur around, plus I'm a full-time student in need of a car. Thanks guys!

You could have a bad o2 sensor for the running rich or cat converter. The fan module, you would need to have a scanner to actuate the fan.You could have a fuseable link problem if the fan don't not come on.
