Experiencing two issues. First, when shifting from reverse to drive (and vice versa), majority of the time the trans slams into gear. Come to a dead stop after backing out of the driveway, pull shifter down to "D" and bam. Feels like the trans is about to drop out of the van.
Second issue while driving. When shifting from 1st to 2nd, theres a slight hesitation, then shifting from 2nd to 3rd, it feels like the trans shutters, like it is trying to find the gear. From 3rd on, the trans shifts smooth as silk.
Van has only 4,500 miles on it and plan on bringing it up at next service, but wanted to see if anybody else has (or had) the same issue so hopefully I could point the sevice department in the right direction.
thanks in advance

born2fishnfl, i have an '09 with the 3.8L and i have the same issues going from 1st to 2nd and then from 2nd to 3rd. I have had it looked at by the local dealer twice and they said they are not getting an error code so there is nothing they can do. I bought the van used and it has just over 40,000 miles on it. I did get an extended warranty for the next three years so hopefully i can get it figured out by then.
gentz, how did you come to the conclusion your tranny needed to be replaced? What tests were done?
Thanks

I'll keep all posted...still have 1,000 miles until the next service. My issue with the trans shifting hard and shuttering, is the fact that other parts of the drivetrain are receiving additional stress and what about if or when I try to sell it? Anybody test driving it will feel it.

blubomber, if no error codes are found, the latest flash performed then a tear down is required. Then the techs that do the teardown if good will find whats wrong. Just a word of caution...alot of dealer techs are not that experienced...my word find a good dealership with experienced techs.
