2002 Caravan 3.3lengine swap/EGR question
Hi there,
I've got some ppl in my church that are down on their luck and long story short they need a new engine in their 2002 DGC Sport.
They tell me it's a 3.3l and they've located two engines for sale one with an EGR and one without. But they don't know which one they have. I can't make it over to look at it just yet so I was wondering if someone on here had a picture of their EGR while installed in the van or maybe better "directions" to tell them how to check for it than I do.
Also, are there any complications i'm going to run into or any special tools I need to get this done for them? I guess it has a brand new trans in it, so that shouldn't need any attention.
TIA,
Joe

Welcome to DF
If the van has an EGR valve on it. The location would be the front cylinder head above the Alt. If the van doesn't have an EGR valve, ether engine will work. The engine with an EGR valve can be removed and install a plate and gasket to block off the EGR port.
