Default 98 town & country strange starting problem

Once in a while my minivan doesnt start. When you turn the key to start position it starts and runs for a second then dies. Also when this happens my dash cluster is dead. No reading at all not even milage. Also the ovehead trip computer reads only tempareture but the milage and distance readings go blank.

When this happens I need to wait from 30min to one week for the car to start. I had it towed to a mechanic when this happened and he couldn't find the problem then after a week the car started and I drove it home.

Today this happend again but it started after one hour.

Welcome to DF
I would guess the printed circuit board for the cluster is shorting out, Causing the bus circuit to go down and not be able to start. Next time this does happen, Remove the cluster and unplug the cluster and try to start.

How difficult is it to remove the cluster. What are the steps involved.

Thank you
