I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan and this morning on my way to work I noticed after being stopped at a light that when I took my foot of the brake it want to lunge forward. There was nothing else weird going on other then this so I continued on my way. Once I arrived to work I parked and put the van in park once i did this my RPM jumped up to 3000. I shut off the van and waited a couple of minutes thinking maybe it was just a weird hiccup (I have had other weird things before that happen once and never again) so I turned it back on and the RPM jumped up right away and I was almost to 4000 and panicked and shut it off. Any ideas????

 

Some how a" vacuum line" has fell off or chewed off by squrrel ???? my thoughts Duane

You could have a vaccum leak as duane had stated, or the throttle is staying in a wide open throttle position.
