Default Sliding door lock - 2006 Town & Country

I have a 2006 Town & Country and the driver side sliding door lock actuator seems to not be working. Any suggestions as to what it could be (i.e. are problems with the actuators common). How difficult is this repair?

Thanks in advance - Ed

Default Door Lock

If memory serves me right, I think there is a wire in the lower track assy that get clipped and cuts the connection. I think that is what I had to do on mine when the lock quit.

Do you remember where it broke? I tried looking at it today and was having a hard time seeing much. Did it break near the connector to the door?

Thanks,

Ed

Do you have power sliding doors? If so, does the door work under power? If so, it is most likely not a broken wire and just a failed actuator for the lock. Both issues are very common.

Yes, power sliding doors and they are functioning as normal. Just the power lock on that door will not work. Is the actuator easy to replace? What do they charge for the part?

Thanks,

Ed

They aren't bad to install. Remove the sliding door panel (one screw in the rectangle cup holder), remove the 3 T30 torx screws from the latch and pull it out. One T15 torx screw holding the lock actuator to the latch. I would guess the actuator is under $50.

Hey Tizzy, I looked at this yesterday and do not see a rectangular cup holder. Do I just remove the black latch assembly on the rear inside door jamb? Or do I remove the trim panel below the rear vent window?

Thanks,

Ed
