nightmare van.
I'll leave out some details for times sake.. but, the driver side halfshaft will not go in properly on our 97 dodge grand caravan, AWD i have tried many things and theres lots of other problems with this piece of trash i just want it working again so i can get rid of it. does anyone know why it wont go in? one time i heard that if you have both shafts out some gear or something falls.. is this true?
old fords this was true, you used to use a piece of broom handle in them to keep internals in place.
Chryslers are not like this. there is a sping clip on the end of the shaft that is giving you an issue. just wigggle while pushing my friend, try indexing the teeth and push it in in a different location,
the closer you can hold it to the trans the more pressure and control you will have, as you wont have two joints flexing and sucking up your presssure
