Anyone here have the 2010 Caravan in Deep Water Blue? It appears to be the same color as VW Routan's Neptune Blue and I wanted to see if the color codes happen to be the same. The idea is that if they are the same, I may be able to get a better price from the Dodge dealer for touch-up paint. Thank you.

they can be the same code but there can be alternates of every code, sometimes as many as 6 alternate colours. (they will all look the same when parked side by side but try swapping panels from one car to another and you will see the difference). HONDA was really bad for this!!!

this is all dependant on where the cars are built as some cars have the same colour but are made in different factories, or country's for that matter.

an auto part strore that mixes paint for bodyshops will have a big binder of all the paint chips in the world, even going back many years.

they will also be able to tell you if your colour is an alternate or not, they wont charge you for this info.

thats the reason why people shouldnt buy the VW van as the price for parts is more than the dodge(considering they are the same vans)

What was the first year of the routan. Because i know the RT body for the caravan was 2008.

 

The Routan's first year was 2009. They are assembled on the same line as the Caravan and Town & Country in Canada. Aside from appearance parts (and suspension on the models without towing package), THEY ARE THE SAME VAN. I got $7k off the sticker price of my 2010 while my parents who bought a 2010 Caravan only managed to get $6k off. Aside from getting a better deal, I've also found that the Routan seats hug you more and are more comfortable.

Back to the subject, being they come down the same line, I would be very surprised if Chrysler changed the paint between models, only spec'ed in the brochures differently. The color I got in fact was not in the brochure and only available through special order.

 

Can you send me the paint codes, this way i can ck with our parts department and see what they come up with?

 

Just took a moment to check and the paint code for my van is PBS. VW refers to this color as Neptune Blue.

 

I check the parts department, PBS is a dark blue part number 5163347AA.
