Sapporo, either stop dwelling on my mistakes or stop posting in my thread. i dont need your bs.
The I's in the sentences that i last posted should be IT Not I. i am not physically putting it in 3rd gear.
you said it goes 1-2 then neutral, then you said it sometimes goes into 3rd... there are two totally different causes so WE don't want to waste time chasing after the wrong problem... quit crying like a baby and just start over with ALL the correct information!!!
I was on the guys shoulder while he was running the codes. he used a K20 and something else, i THINK it was a K19
key K13 IS the correct application for Chrysler. so if he's using 19 or 20 then he is wrong!!!
One of them worked and one didn't.
probably only got into ODBII section of the pcm. if he doesn't use the right key, he won't be able to access any other computers only OBDII P-codes in only the PCM
I just want to know the damn facts and get my van up and running all this pre-teen drama bull **** is un-needed and your wasting your own time.
The "DAMN" facts are you can express yourself without all the cussing. you are wasting time with the drama!!!
I would appreciate advice from someone who doesnt have a worlds best Transmission mechanic T-shirt that they wear every day.
hmmm... flaming? seems you don't want it happening to you so maybe you shouldn't do it yourself... "those who live in glass houses...."

i have a 604 it doesnt like shifting into 3rd but it does ocassionaly.
this requires a scanner to communicate with the TCM!!!! Whom ever you had look at it really needs to try again with the correct key. they shouldn't charge you since they have no clue to start with.
its a hard shift fro 1st to 2nd
So far i have cleaned the Solenoid pack connection
Cleaned the Solenoid with breakklean
Replaced the input and output speed sensors
waste of time and money. if either was bad you'd have NO shift what so ever
and cleaned up the wiring harnesses located under the battery terminal.
I had it scanned but the TCM would not communicate with the scanner but the ECM would. so i only got a 1491 because my fan fuse was blown. so i could not talk to the relay.
Any suggestions? all in RED. needs to be scanned with the right key, or find someone that actually knows WTF they are doing. Heck a highschool auto shop student could do better than what you encountered already.
If i need to rebuild it do i need any special tools? im going to rebuild it myself if it has to be done.
LOTS of special tools. they cost around $400-$800 for the ones you need
604's are notorious for Solenoid pack wiring issues, in my opinion this is a electrical issue but i will not know until i get time to change fluids and see if there is metal in my pan.
they are? I've only needed to replace 1/2 dozen over 20 years and 1000's of vans later
Any information, or help would be greatly appreciated.
No Flaming in this thread. Well you already went against that statement with the 'trans mechanic t-shirt
Thanks.
