Default 2008 GC tire size help

Hi,

I know there is alot of post similar to mine but I can't find a answer. I am looking for winter tires for my wifes van that currently has 225/65/17 on them. Is it possible to put 225/65/16 without any major problems aside from the TPMS. And just to clarify, TPMS, does it just mean that the light will remain on?

Thanks

you probably want to go a larger size on the 16" tire to make them the same circumferance. Probably around 245. there are many tire size calculators, here's one

and yes, if the new rims don't have tire pressure sensors, the lamp will be on all the time

Maybe it's a stupid question, but is there any negetive effect to the TPMS light being on? Such as when the airbag light is on, the airbags don't deploy which can be a safety issue. Thanks.

It's yellow and really annoying at night. Other than that, no. It's just a warning light. Thank you Ford and the national government!

thanks for all the help, one more quick question. My rims are a 6.5 x 17 5-114mm, will a 7 x 17 5-114mm rim fit?
