Dodge Grand Caravan MIL Code P0740
I have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. The MIL recently came on. A scan revealed the p0740 code. I changed the trany filter and deleted the code. No light for about a week, and now it's back on. The fluild level and trany color looks good. Has anyone had this problem...fix?

Symptom:
P0740-TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH CONTROL CIRCUIT
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P0740-TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH CONTROL CIRCUIT
When Monitored: During Partial Electronically Modulated Converter Clutch (PEMCC)
operation.
Set Condition: The trans must be in PEMCC, input speed greater than 1750 rpm. The
TCC/L-R solenoid must achieve max duty cycle and NOT be able to pull the engine speed
within 60 rpm of input speed. The code sets after 3 attempts at less than 30 deg of throttle
angle.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
CHECKING SYMPTOMS AND POSSIBLE CAUSES
LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE CAUSING SYMPTOM
CODE P1784 ALSO PRESENT
NO PEMCC TO FEMCC TRANSITION DURING TIP IN
OIL PUMP BUSHING LOW PRESSURE
SOLENOID PACK ASSEMBLY L-R SOLENOID OPEN
VALVE BODY VALVE MECHANISM
INTERMITTENT CODE P0740
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 With the DRBIIIt, read DTC’s.
Is the Starts Since Set Counter 3 or less ?
All
Yes ® Go To 3
No ® Go To 2
2 Record all DTC’s and one trip failures.
With the DRBIIIt, erase DTC’s.
With the Transmission at normal operating temperature, drive in 4th gear at light
Throttle at 50 MPH for 17 to 20 seconds. Verify EMCC by monitoring the DRBIIIt
RPM display.
When EMCC begins, tip gradually into the Throttle while EMCC is maintained on
the screen. Partial Lockup (PLU) to Lockup (LU) should be seen after 5-10 seconds.
Do this maneuver at least three times.
Did the erased DTC come back ?
