Yeah ususally after any driveability or CEL issue, I do that.

i have same van as you do. was there a actual problem with the performance of the car or the "check engine light" came on. i wish to know for future reference. thanks.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes there was a slight performance loss and the rpm's were a little jumpy. Nothing too major.

Same performance hit for my van too. At low acceleration it would be a bit laggy. Once I was above 25mph there were no issues.

Just this Monday the check engine light went out. I have not had the performance issues since.

Default EGR nightmare

I have been having problems with these codes as well P0403 and P0406. At first I was told to clean the vacuum system using sea foam. Then I was told to pull the egr valve and clean it. Then I went to auto zone and bought a new egr valve and put it on. All along I was getting maybe 10 to 12 miles to the gallon. I change the egr valve the light went off for a month then came back on. I finally pulled it back off and got another under warranty. I have now replaced the egr valve 5 times, each time it clears the code for about 50 to 100 miles and then comes back on. I have even taken it to a shop where they replaced the valve again because it was not working. What else can I do?

Year model and engine size please.

My van is a 2006 dodge caravan with the 3.3 v6 standard fuel type.
