I am a new owner of a good, used 2007 with a 3.8 L.

My wife wants me to investigate a rattle in the front dash mounted speaker area when the radio is on and bass-y songs come through. How complex is it to pull a speaker out from under there? Are those grills on top, or simply molded-in slots?

Just pull up on the front dash pad with plastic trim stick and may need to remove the A-pillar before you can lift the pad.

 

Same deal on my 07 just came up.

MT, could you explain in a little more detail how to get to the speaker? I'm not sure what's rattling but if I rap on the grill a bit I can hear something underneath that's loose. Does the speaker grille itself come off or does the entire plastic dash have to lift up?
