Default Power window motor

I have a power window works intermittently. More not working than working. I can roll it down then on the way up it will stop. I can hold the switch and open and close the door and it will come up the rest of the way. I went to get a used motor at a junkyard and the guy says he doesn't sell many motors by themselves usually its the regulator going bad. How can I verify if the motor is bad or the regulator?

When the motor goes out, I always replace the and regulator as a pair. Remove the door panel when the window stop working and with a 12 volt test lite ck the connector for power and grund. If you have both, then replace the motor and regulator.

I replaced the motor and reg. in my 99 GC. Complete unit was only $15.00 more than the motor cost. Auto Zone was $79.99. Not to hard of a job, but I needed a good set of directions.

Default window

If it goes up while closing or opening the door, you may want to check for a broken wire in the rubber boot making contact off and on.Very common problem

I was going to use a used set regulator and motor but couldn't find one, so I took a shot and changed the motor only and I got lucky. So it was motor only.

The best I could find was the Chilton manual. I tape the glass to hold it up while I remove the regulator and motor. Not a hard job once you get the door panel off.
