Your problem doesn't sound like any real damage occured, it sounds electrical. If the trans is in limp-in as you described, it will set a code. Did you notice a check engine light when it was stuck in gear?

No code, even ran it until it hit rev limiter to try and trip a code. It is sched to be at the dealer tomorrow morning.

That's impossible. If the trans doesn't shift, that effects emissions and when emissions are affected, then it MUST trip a code. Definitely sounds like an electrical problem and not a transmission hardware issue.

Not always, this van has a APP sensor. Which means the throttle is fly by wire. No throttle cable. If the App sensor has defaulted, the mil lite may not come on. Thats why the member need to have the dealer look at it.

Actually there was a code that was stored. When I said there was no code, the CEL was not on. They are keeping the Van over night. Of coarse they could not duplicate the issue. At least there was a code that was stored, will give them something to work with . I was not told what the code was, I only spoke with the service writer

ask them to record code when you see them.

Default transmision replaced

Hi , I was looking for posts with transmission problems for Caravan 2010 SXT 4.0 and I found yours .
Not related I guess but at 26.000 km I start hearing like a whistle on the driver side from 30kph on. I thought it is a small problem .Went to the dealer and after a drive test he said transmission need to be changed without delay .
They did change it in a couple of days .
I was looking to see if it is a common problem , the vehicle doesn't have 1 year yet.

With the new transmission I think I noticed something different , but not sure . It looks that if the road is slippery and one wheel spins faster it just doesn't send any power to it .It looks funny but the wheels are not spinning much, the engine is revving like 1500rpm and it just can't climb (if I try to accelerate it cuts the gas ) .The old one I think it was different .

Dealer flashed computer by advice from Dodge, did not fix the problem. They actually was able to duplicate the problem. They called Dodge again, new valve body on the way. Hopefully this will resolve the problem once and for all.
