Default Blower Fan & Turn Signals - Bad Relay??

I have a 1997 Grand Caravan that's been in the family since it was new. My dad was a mechanic way back when and all our vehicles have always been well serviced and maintained. I "inherited" my van when my dad passed away a few years ago.

Anyway .... for the past six months or so, some strange things have been going on with my van. First, the lights on the center control panel for the rear wiper/washer, rear defroster, A/C and recirculating air buttons flash continuously. Everything works - the rear wipers, defroster, etc. but the lights blink all the time.

Second, now I'm having a problem with the heater blower fan and turn signals not working at the same time. It's not the fuse - we've checked those and even replaced them. Sometimes the fan and turn signals work; sometimes they don't. (But if one doesn't, the other also doesn't).

Also the round, headlight switch is kind of "loose" and I have to fiddle with it to make the headlights turn on. The parking lights will always come on, but not the headlights.

What could be going on? A bad ground? Bad relays? Massive electrical issues?

HELP!!!!

~Michelle

Well, the heater issue is a matter of doing a calibration. Do a search in this forum and you should find many postings on how to do that proceedure

You should replace the headlight switch. That's easy

I think you need to find a nice guy with some quality tools and abilities to attack the electrical issues.

Turn sigs/blower - Don't see a direct connection between the two on wiring diagrams. Could be a physical connection at a connector if contacts for the two are adjacent. Might try taking a close look at the PDC and junction block connectors for corrosion or misaligned/damaged contacts.

The heater is fine ... it's just the fan.

I might do that.

I have one. LOL! It was his suggestion to look for an answer to the strange blinker/blower fan connection.

:-)

That's kind of where we're at ... we're thinking there might be a loose connection behind the fuse panel and/or the center instrument panel because it's awfully funny how the blower fan and signal lights are "connected". (The flashers work, even when the signal lights and blower fan don't!)

Thanks,
