I lost one of my 2009 dodge caravan remote key. How can i get a replacement.
I heard only dealer can do it. I contact many places in calgary. I am new here. So have least idea what to do. If any one can help me, where i can get one in calgary, canada. Please send me an email at philipjosephmail@gmail.com

Hi , look in the windshield an copy down the serial # to show the dealer parts dept.. It has to your # only an the dearler can order a new fob & key . If the dealer tries to give you just any old fob refuse it !! I had this happen !! Your V.I.N. only ! Have him program . my 2 cents Bud

 

Quick question. If I lose a key and program a new one with the dealer and I find my missing key. Will it still work? Or would they all need to b repogrammed.

 

The old key will still work.

 

I bought brand new factory dodge keys on ebay for $60 each. That is the going price for NEW factory Dodge fobiks thru ebay sellers, generics are quite a bit cheaper but I didn't want to chance it. The one's I bought had the exact same part# and FCC# as my original key, so they are 100% compatible. The factory part numbers are found on your key case. Most dealers will program the second key for $40. Some want you to buy the key from them, but others will program any key. Just tell them you got the unprogrammed key from your used car dealer and they will likely program it for you.

You can always program a 3rd key yourself for free. I would strongly suggest keeping 3 keys, so if you lose one you don't need to visit the dealer and pay for programming again. You can buy 2 keys off ebay and get them programmed for $40 less than getting one key thru a dealer. Dealers sell the keys for $160 plus $40 programming fee.
