I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan Sport Model. When I have the daylights on the front drivers side light is on and the passenger side is out. Then when I turn the lights on the driver side goes out and the passenger side turns on. Any idea why?
Thanks
Welcome to DF
This was a safety feature, starting from 2001 thru 2006. This is to let people know you are turning. So you don't have a problem, this normal.

If you're saying it's doing it without moving the turn signal switch then I would suspect the headlight switch. Give it the wiggle test.
The way I read it was, With the daytime running lites on and when they are making a left or right turn. Thats when they notice the lights go out and then come back on.
This has nothing to do with the signal. As soon as I turn the van on the drivers side headlight is on and the passengers side head light is off. Then when I turn on my lights the drivers side goes out and the passengers side comes on

Yup, common fixes for this are the headlight switch or could be the Front Control Module or FCM. If you're adventurous you can disassemble the switch and clean up the contacts. The problem with the FCM is poor contact connection in the connector. Disconnect the negative battery cable then remove the FCM. Clean any corrosion then slightly twist the blade contacts so they make better connections. The FCM is the silver box bolted to the IPM (fuse box).
