Default Dodge Caravan 2003 Transmission problem

I have a Dodge G caravan 2003. After replacing my transmission, my mechanic also installed a new transmission cooler behind the grid, on the air conditioner's radiator. He disabled the vehicles original trans cooler. Now whenever I'm in traffic and whenever I'm travelling uphill the fans turn on and stay on the whole time even though coolant temp is not high. This also happens whenever I'm on the freeway traveling at the freeway speed.

Can anyone please tell me if this has anything to do with the new trans cooler that was installed? Or if the trans temp has anything to do with the fans turning on.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to DF
I would have use the both cooler and not just the one. If you didn't have this problem before the new cooler,I would change the location of the new cooler.Maybe below the A/C condenser.
