Default Oil pressure specifications?

I'm getting ready to check the oil pressure in my 2001, 3.3 Liter Dodge Caravan. The oil can idiot light has started showing up -- when I stop at a traffic light or stop sign and still infrequently. Oil level is fine. I've had the oil and filter changed regularly every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Also, engine temperature has yet to spike, ever. It's due for a 3,000-mile oil change right now.

I know it might be the oil pressure switch, but this baby has 150,000 miles on it and I want to double check to make sure the pump is OK.

My problem, right now, is that I can't find the specs in my Haynes on what the oil pressure should be. If anyone can pass on that information, I would greatly appreciate it.

You'll need a oil prssure switch, 95% of the time. should be like $12-$15
I would say at idle you should have like 35+ PSI, maybe 65 PSI when u rev it up.

If you got a bad oil pump, you'll know... the engine will tell you.

Can you elaborate on how your engine will tell you? What will happen? Thx

I guess he's not sure what language you're engine speaks.Bad Oil Pump you will hear tapping noise. It will get worse and louder as pump starts to fail also.I wouldn't wait to long because your engine might stop communication all together...Good Luck Man!!!!
