Default possible tire shop damage

Didn't get any play on this subject in the tire forum, so I'll try it here.

Looking for opinions on this wheel damage. I'm pretty certain the damage was caused by the tire shop that replaced the two rear tires. Manager of the tire shop says it's curb damage. I would think someone knowledgeable could look at these pictures and be able to tell what most likely caused the damage. Any opinions would be appreciated.

for comparison purposes, here are the two front wheels. The rears were in similar condition and state of cleanliness when the van was brought in:

I would agree with Lov24x4. I haven't seen a tire machine do damage like that either. Do you know the model of tire machine the tire shop was using?

That does look like Curb damage to me.
They looks like Impact damage, tire machine would only do Scraping/scratch type damage

Gotta agree with everyone here...It looks like curb damage. I stood inside the shop before while they changed the tires before and watched how it is performed and I can't see how it would do that.

Thanks for the input guys.

I was going to take the van over to another shop for a second opinion but now I probably won't bother with it.
