My 99 Caravan Has 140000 miles and I am not quite ready to get rid of it. The #2 spark plug blew out completely! I was not able to reinstall the plug because the threads in the head are probably stripped.This happened once before,but I was able to reinstall the plug with no problem. Question is can I retap the plug hole or is there a way to install a helicoil without having to remove any parts? Has anyone ever have this happen to them? Or is it a sign of another problem with the engine. The engine is a 2.4L. Any help or advice would e great! Thanks!

 

Yes there is a helicoil kit and you don't need to remove the cylinder head, unless you go to far down the hole.
