2001 Grand Caravan Sport dies again
so i'm usualy over in the 3rd gen dakota section but my mothers 2001 grand caravan with the 3.3 has had many problems lately. its approaching 140,000 miles and has recently been stalling. I know there was a coolant leak but that has been fixed and the coolant levels are full (as are all fluid levels) I moved the van so i could get my truck out this morning and realized the check engine light was on but didnt have the time to check it out then. She went to go out a few minutes ago and the van will not even crank. lights work inside and windows will go down etc but when i try to crank it all you hear is a light clicking sound. it is not the starter and it is hard to hear until you pop the hood. any ideas before i find her a new vehicle? it was a great van until recently but now just has too many problems
Grab a set of jumper cables and jump start the van. If it starts it's a pretty good bet the battery is toast or the connections are loose or corroded. The clicking is probably the starter relay in the IPM (fuse box).
