Please help! Weird caravan ignition!

I'm not sure, I do not believe the charging system is working because: and to clarify I misspoke a bit, I removed the negative jumper cable from the van while it was idling after I had it started and the van died.

I do not believe so, and I may have misspoke before, the van will start when jumped and will die if the negative jumper cable is removed.

Either charge the battery or replace and then check the charging system with a DVOM or a shop. You should be charging between 13.5 to 14.2 volts.
