Caliper doesn't slide
My 2000 Caravan is eating outboard front pads. It seems that the calipers are not sliding as the pad wears, so all the braking seems to be being done by the outboard pads.
I have done the pads twice now before I realized this is what's happening.
How do I ensure that the calipers are able to slide?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

I would think if the caliper was sticking, it would be the inner pad wearing. More likely it is the pad sticking in the slide.

The caliper slides on the pins that bolt 3 goes through. If you can pull the caliper off and those pins slide back and forth smoothly then they are ok. Also lay the pads in the slides and make sure they go back and forth. Make sure there isn't a groove worn in the slide (2 on the diagram)

THANK YOU!!! I will check tomorrow as I will be replacing rotors and pads...again.
It's definitely the outer pads wearing...there is a very nice deep wide wear groove in the rotor the size of the pad but only outboard, not inboard...that side is like new.
