2007 Grand Caravan wont start after headlight replacement
This is my first post to the forum. It has been helpful in the past without posting my own question but now I need help. Both headlight bulbs went out this week. I purchased a $8 bulb at Walmart but before I could put it in the other headlight went out as well. I was out garage saling this morning and found a 2-bulb package (#9007) for $5.Thinking it was pretty cool I went home and installed both bulbs. They worked fine. I packed up all the tools and tried starting the van. No dice. I have had a charger on it and tried jumping it. It just sounds funny when trying to start and the tach and speedometer go all the way to the pin and back down. I did remove the lamps and look for shorts..nothing. And then put both of the old bulbs in thinking that the new ones were causing some kind of short. Still nothing...any help is always appreciated. Thanks
Shouldn't happen but you're starring at it. All I can say is either this is the coincidence of the century or you bumped and broke something. Did you remove anything to get at the bulbs especially on the drivers side? It's cranking correct, just not starting?
I thought I might have bumped something, so I looked in the headlight areas but there is nothing to bump in them. I didn't even touch the fuse area. It sounds really funny when I try to start it. It is almost like it is fighting with itself. Almost like it is trying to start but then trying to shut off at the same time. I haven't tried it this morning, yet. I had the charger on all night. I will keep everyone informed. Hopefully, it starts later. Thanks
Well I guess it was the coincidence of the century. I replaced the battery, headlight bulbs and had the alternator checked. The van is working and I was able to get it in the garage before the storms last night. Thanks to all who looked at the problem. Now if I can just get the rear air bi-pass intalled and the system recharged....but that is another thread. Thanks again.
