Default do i need an aux transmission cooler

I own a 2006 dodge grand caravan sxt without a tow package. I had an aftermarket hitch installed to tow my fishing boat (about 1200 lbs towing weight) but never had a need for a transmission cooler. This summer I intend to go on a road trip with a number of people in the vehicle and was thinking about getting an aux transmission cooler. But after reading about this, I had read that if you have the "dual a/c" in your minivan then you already have on installed. Is this correct or should I consider getting the auxiliary cooler?

Having an auxiliary cooler is always a good ideal. It will help to keep the fluid temp lower and the transmission will last a bit longer.

I second Master Tech, a tranny cooler is always nice to have, low heat means longer life for the tranny...Heat is really bad....

Thanks for the reply. I do agree with your statements, but the question is whether i have one installed already or not. Because my minivan has the dual a/c, I've read that there is a stock aux transmission cooler installed already. But am I mistaken?

well that is easy just look ...follow the transmission cooler lines, if they dont run to the radiator only and run to a cooler and then radiator then you do...if all they do is run to the tranny all you have is the radiator cooler for the transmission
