trouble shooting a temp issue
when my 96 2.4L dodge caravan sits for several hrs we have to pump the starter... it has a newish coolant temp sensor and a new plug for that. when we plugged it into a comp we dont get an error, but when the van is cold the temp is at around 95 degrees celcius about normal operating temp. this has been happening for a while and we've already gone thru a new starter. the mechanics are split. one says its the fuel pump being under powered. others say it could be anything from a defective sensor, a bare wire leading to the comp or potentially the comp. i was really wondering which rought is more correct

Okay, You need to jump start the van because the battery is either low or dead? Have you check the battery for a draw, causing the battery to go dead? I see you have checked for codes using a scanner to the computer. What is the problem with the temp gauge? reads too hot or cold? The fuel pump being under powered could be from a battery problem. I recommend to have the battery recharged and check to see if it needs to be replaced.
