Why loose lugs make noise forward, not reverse?

Why loose lugs make noise forward, not reverse?
Had knocking in drivers side suspension. Starting thinking why noise would sound like flat tire, or tumbling sound, thub, thub, thub.
Yesterday, jacked up car, rotated tires fast while in condominium parking lot. Authorities, commandos don't like work done in parking lot. Stupid error didn't tightened lugs drivers side.
Thought I had cv joint problem couple days later because noise occurred when tires rotate while driving. anyway, it was lugs not tightened, drivers side.
QUESTION: while troubleshooting, noise only heard going forward. TEsted driving in reverse. NO SOUND. What occurs/pressure etc to cause sound on wheel/lugs only going forward and not reverse.

thanks for the response. the speed was the same, and i repeatedly tried it several time. Could there be more torque when advancing forward, weight of engine and all?
