We recently got in our van and the alarm went off. We disconnected the battery for 20 min to get it to stop.

Now when we go to start the van the alarm light is still on and the car won't start.

I tried to unlock and lock the driver door with the key but nothing.

Everyone keeps telling me to tow it to a dealership - any other ideas before wasting that time/money?!

 

try relearning the key to the van. (sounds like the mechanics are working but the communication from key to van is not there)

the instructions should be in the owners manual

The skreem module may have locked you out from starting the van. You can try hooking up a battery charger and leave the key on for 1 hour. That may unlock the module. If not dealer.

 

Tried the relearning key thing. I'll try the charger next. Would jumping it work too?

 

No jumping isn't going to help. The module must be locked and thats why is won't start.
