Transmission mount, what's wrong with this picture!
I'm changing the tranny mount on my 95 dodge Caravan with 3.0 and AOD. The old mount was toast, gone, vanished....
I assembled the new mount and was going to mount it when I saw the huge difference between the size of the bolt that goes thru the mount and the size of the hole it was going thru. The hole is huge and there is going to be BIG SLOP in there................
Was there a plastic or nylon insert that goes in the square tube???? am I missing a part??
Thanks
Joe

nope no insert. when you put it into the pocket that it fits the square tubing will have steel on each end. once you tighten the bolt the ends will contact the square tubing and clamp the ends, if its torqued to spec this will not move
I know it looks sloppy but this is absolutely correct

THANK YOU "Hemi" !!!!!!!
I see how the clamping will work with your explanation. It just looked so sloppy I just didn't want to put it back together like that. I'll be back on the road by dark now.
Thanks again Hemi!!!
