A/C has been running fine. 2 days ago my wife turns it on and hears loud screeching noise and smells "burning" from vents. Of course, I go to check next morning..start up turn on a/c and works fine. Day later does noise again and I hear it also. Thinking it is compressor. Noise does not happen when A/C is not turned on. My questions are: Is it possible to be a/c clutch? Also, I can't get fixed right away. If she drives the van without turning on A/C can any more damage be caused?
