2011 Dodge Grand Cavaran - Key/Menu Frozen!
Well, I just had my first scare with my puppy. I was changing the Menu to open the doors with one click, etc (yes, toooo much time on my hands!). I tried it and I decided to put it back. When I tried to unlock the door(s) with the FOB - nothing - dead! I had to use the "vale key" to open the door. I put the FOB into the ignition and nothing on the display but the mileage (641). OMG - the darn FOB wouldn't even come out - I could turn it off but the key was locked in! I called my Dealer and the Service Representative suggested I pull a particular fuse (reset the system) and wait a little while and try again. No go. I was instructed to call Chrysler Road Support and get it towed back to the dealer - bummer! While I'm waiting I checked and all doors, lights, etc. worked fine but if I did it manually. The doors would kick in and automatically open and close, etc. I started wondering if I screwed something up with the FOB. The FOB (both) were simply dead on arrival. It was as though I was using someone elses key on the ride. Maybe I did something that cleared the FOB? Anyway, I get a call from the owner! He suggested (if I was up to it) to remove the Negative Ground for a few minutes and try again before the tow arrived. Yes, it worked! I've been around for a while (no comments from the peanut gallery) and never had a Dealer Owner take an interest in my problem but he did and I am very grateful. He said next time I'm up - to stop by and he will go through the Menu's with me!
Bottom line - I don't know what combination of things I did - but something went wrong while working with the Menu's but the "reset" approach worked and life is good again.

I couldn't believe it when it happened!
