2008 GC SXT - need DVD options
Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum and hoping to get some guidance.
We recently purchased my father-in-law's 2008 Grand Caravan SXT. It has the REN multimedia system with uConnect and DVD player. No navigation. I'd like to change out the drop-down storage bins in back and install the DVD screens for my kids. It has the 2 short center consoles.
I see a few options on the Mopar website but am not sure which is the best. Also, are there any cheaper options or aftermarket options that would allow me to use the built-in consoles? $800 per screen from Mopar is a bit ridiculous. I have not removed them yet, but is all the wiring typically in place (i.e. can I do the install myself) or does new wiring need to be run up the column and under the headliner? Is there anything else that would preclude me from doing the install myself (any dealer-only installable parts/options)?
Thanks!

Welcome to DF
2008 was the first year of the RT body and if you didn't have all the bells and whistles in the van, there was no other options. Thats was because of the wire harness that chrysler put in each van. I think the best member to answer your question would be Tizzy1. You could always send him a pm.
