Questions on the 2010 w/3.3
Hello to all. My first post and a few questions.
I’m looking for a used van and only have limited funds. I was looking to buy a Toyota as my uncle owns a dealership and is offering me a real good deal. But I’m at a position where I cannot afford payments and I do not have enough to pay for a new Toyota van. I’m very leery of the Dodge as my prior company had a fleet of four and it seemed there were always trouble with transmissions and numerous other troubles. However the price of the used Dodge vans is appetizing. I realize this is a Dodge forum and in no way do mean to sound or hope not to sound disrespectful at all. I have found a 2010 near perfect Dodge with 19,600 miles for $17,850. It has the 3.3 v6 with the four speed transmission. I have searched the site and read nearly every post that has 2010 in the title.
Would you recommend this vehicle? What are the troubles with it? My last four vehicles have been bought new and were GMC’s. Over 200k and literally only one alternator a fuel pump and a couple of wheel bearings have been replaced so far. Can I expect this from the van?
Thanks for any advice and sorry for the length.
Blessings.
Chad

Welcome to DF
The 2010 dodge van with the 3.3L would be a good choice, Because the transmission problems that we are seeing now is the 6 speed automatic. Thats is in the 3.8/4.0L engines. Good luck on your choice.

change ur engine oil and trans fluid often, u will be ok with your driver train.
Common problems with the newer minivan are Brakes and tires from the factory are horrible, but that's simply routine maintainence.
All these fancy eletrical gadgets like moonroof, power slidingdoor/liftgates, premium entertainment system is problematic. But since u r getting a base model as fleet vehicle, Dodge Minivan is ur best bet.
I've also seen a lot of rear A/C unit failure too. But rear A/C system is problematic with every car manufacturer.
Toyota minivan are nice, but they are more expensive initial cost and repair cost, dodge is a better bet for fleet vehicle.
there are plenty of rental car company getting rid of their vehicle as it approach it's end of waranty period, as ur uncle to get u some thru auctions.
