Default 08 Grand Caravan Brake question

So I have a 2008 Grand Caravan SXT, 45k miles, already had rotors and pads at 25k....need them again at 45k!

Had the dealer do a brake check since a local guy thought the calipers were going bad (have extended warranty) and the calipers are fine....he said that the caliper slide need cleaned when I do the pads since there is road grime keeping it from allowing the caliper (or pad??) to freely move.

Any ideas how I clean the caliper slide (front brakes).

Thanks!

Welcome to DF
Wire bush or sandpaper, the wipe out with a towel. Lube the sliders with anti-size.

Hello,
I also have a 2008 Grand Caravan. It was purchased new in late October 2008 and it currently has 24,850km.
I just failed my yearly motor vehicle inspection. The mechanic at the Chrysler dealer said my pads were worn and separating and my rotors were worn and rusted.
I was surprised since my other vehicles (Toyota and Nissan) have always been really good and never really had to do anything to them.
The dealer was going to charge me $1,000 CDN but my dad did the job so it only cost me $300. I had my parts inspected by another mechanic in another dealer (Nissan) and he said they were still good and should have probably lasted me another 15,000km (which would probably be another year for me). I should have had a second opinion right away instead of replacing!
