the tail gate on my '00 Caravan doesn't work pull the handle and nothing. Last year I was able to get it to open from that access hole on the inside. Is there a way to keep it from seizing up, it's only a matter of time before the cops start noticing my burnt out tail light.

 

To repair the one on the van, you would have to remove it and clean the slide piece on the back side. The only problem is I have never been able to get one out of a van without it breaking.

This isn't the greatest picture but the piece where the lock rods go into slides back and forth. It gets all rusty til it won't move. I usually replace them with a new one and it is a huge pain.
