Default BLend air door/button

When i use the the blend door button that circulates the inside air in my van it seems to work fine except when i am on the freeway i hear a wind whistle sound. If i shut off the switch and put it back to outdoor air the whistle is gone?

found it, '08 van. First make sure if you have a hepa filter, it is not dirty. You might be able to see the door through the glove box. Make sure no crap is coming through the fresh air opening causing a sealing issue. May just need to be recalibrated, unfortunately, I think you need a scan tool to calibrate the RT vans.

IS a scan tool the same thing as one of those code readers that you plug in to the computer when the service engine light comes on?

And thank you for your advice on the oil question. I'll try the pcv valve and had already planned on monitoring the oil level closely.

I don't know why the other guy has to be so critical. I wasn't blaming the dealer to go back at them. I am one the few people that realize anyone is capable of making a mistake. Even if the dealer didn't fill it correctly i Should have checked it after they were done. I just couldn't figure out where 2 quarts could have gone on a van that i have never had a problem with the oil before so i could fix the problem.

When the pcv starts to go bad, they have a tendancy to start sucking up the oil.

A scan tool is different than a code reader. It can be used to program things, do actuator tests, etc. As the vehicle gets older, the foam seal might compress and not seal as well. Doing a system calibration would eliminate the slop and tighten up the door.
