As the title says, got it and two gallons of 50/50 coolent from Advanced Auto for $119 with tax. Found a $50 coupon code online ordered it online and picked it up at the store.

The only issue I had with it was the new one did not have the holes on the top to put the plastic peice that covers the area between the trans cooler. I used duct tape!!!

Not hard at all, the hardest part was getting the connectors off the fans.

Did all caravans come with a trans cooler? or just if you have a van with the towing package?

All minivans with automatic transmissions have a transmission cooler.

 

The standard transmission cooler is built into the radiator. Do you mean an auxilary transmission cooler? Yes, as far as I know they only came with the tow package.

 

I did not see any connections on the radiator for the trans cooling lines.

On a side note, after I got the radiator out I discovered that the rivits holding the brackets to the trans cooler were broken on the top and on the bottom. The trans cooler was just hanging there supported only by the cooling lines so I tied some wire around the trans cooler and brackets to secure it.

You guys should check yours just be on the safe side.

What year did all the minivans get a trans cooler? Would a 1998 Grand Caravan SE AWD with the 3.8l engine have a external trans cooler?
