It's a little fuzzy but you can see G302 in the left lower of the picture. That is the left quarter area.

Also the center brake lamp also comes off of the BS01 splice so if your center brake lamp works the circuit is good up to there anyway.

I'd be looking at power comming out of the brake light switch on white/tan wire along with fuse 13 test the fuse, just don't do a visual. i've come across a lot of people that assume a fuse is good by visual. sometimes the blow and only have a miniscule break.

si

since we know the center brake lamp works, that would mean the fuse is good, the brake lamp switch is good and the harness is good up until the splice. It does have a different ground so check the socket for power first and go from there

wow, am I a complete moron, I didn't even realize that all the brake lights are on the same circuit.

since tail and turnsignals are good ground is good since they all share the same ground.

that's why I asked about trailer hitch since I've seen so many trailer wires cause all these kind of problems but obviously I'm a complete idiot recommending that be checked when it didn't even have it.

I guess my thoughts have turned out to be a complete waste of time. sorry

Well I have it rigged for now... The final piece to the puzzle was a ground issue after all. A short in the wiring harness for the brake light switch.

I was pulling out the new switch to throw in the old one and my dad says you got it. Anyway I just stripped a piece of wire and kind of circled it around the ground pin. So he has brake lights.

I'm not sure where to get where to get that wiring harness. A junk yard would work as well as any I guess.
_____

New problem....
When I was closing everything up and reattaching the parking brake cable I slipped and I disconnected the other end of the cable.

do you by chance have any pictures on how to replace the 3rd break light (CHMSL) and also which fuse to be used? 15 or 20. I have seen both.

08 - Electrical/8L - Lamps and Lighting/Lamps/Lighting - Exterior/LAMP, Center High Mounted Stop/Removal

REMOVAL

NOTE:The CHMSL illumination on this vehicle is accomplished by LED bulbs and these bulbs are not serviced separately. The CHMSL must be replaced as a unit. 1.Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.2.Open the rear liftgate, and disconnect the washer hose from the CHMSL unit.3.Remove the liftgate spoiler assembly. 4.Remove the two screws from the CHMSL (1) unit and remove the unit from the liftgate spoiler assembly.

thank you for a fast post... Can you also tell me if ther is more documation and or diagrams on removing the CHMSL, ie trim etc.. Step by step and Where can I purchase one.
I also looked at the 15 amp fuse and it looks intact and clean. Should I still try to replace it?
