Default 1996 GC 3.3 jerks and stalls at low speeds, jerks at high speeds but keeps running

96 grand caravan le 3.3 stalls sporatically at low speeds, sitting at lights, turning. It does the same stall jerk at high speeds but restarts immediately. If feels like all power is lost for 1 second and then power is back at high speeds. Replaced cam, speed, and o2 sensor but it still has this problem. A trans code appeared which monitors the temp of the transmission. Any suggestions? John

If it's stalling with gas applied that eliminates the IAC valve. Have you considered a crankshaft sensor? It's infamous for causing stalling without throwing a code. High transmission temp with stalling hints of a torque converter locking up. I would think though it would go into limp mode and throw a TC code.

It was the old original fuel pump. My mechanic buddy replaced the cam, speed, o2 sensor and the crankshaft sensor. Stalling continued. Then we replace the fuel filter with OEM part but the problem continued of stalling and gas gauge would light up and kept dinging and going down. We then replaced the fuel pump and the problem went away. The old pump had been sporadically failing. It has been months now with the new fuel pump and the stalling and dinging are gone. My mechanic buddy said pumps usually just fail and stop working so this was a needle in a haystack problem. Thanks for your help.

After replacing the fuel filter and fuel pump, the stalling problem went away temporarily. I guess the tired MAP sensor was able to get better readings. It did not take long for the stuttering and stalling to reappear several times a day. The RPMs never dropped below 2000 when it stuttered at high speed and resumed without stalling. At high speeds it would stutter for 2 seconds and then keep going. It felt like the fuel stopped for 2 seconds, no power, then it kept going or stalled. At low speeds, it would stall. I replaced the MAP sensor and it has not stuttered or stalled since. The bad MAP sensor never gave a code.

Thanks for coming back with the updates. I'd bet the MAP sensor would have tested just fine too. That plus the common lack of a code makes changing one a shot in the dark. Just have to go by the symptoms. Thanks again.

I have a 95 with the 3.3 that has a little sputter/stall when at idle. I have replaced the crank pos sensor, cam sensor, ignition block. Fuel pump and filter 1 year old. Where is the MAP sensor located and can I clean it? No CEL or codes either. I thought maybe there was an injector clogged so I ran some fuel system cleaner through but so far so change. It is intermittant too...
