Hi, I picked up my 2011 dodge grand caravan from the dealer service shop (haven't a broken clip replaced) and on the drive home i noticed a large purple smear on the windshield (looked like bird poop to be honest, but purple). When i pulled into my garage I could see a spot ont he hood, the doors and several BIG spots on the roof of both the purple liquid as well as a hard redish orange dried liquid. Any idea what it is? I used a wet paper towel and LOTS of elbow grease to get most of them off, as well as my fingernail.

Will the stuff that was on it hurt my paint? Did I hurt my finish by using my finger nail and scrubbing with a paper towel?

Any info is appreciated..thanks!

 

FWIW - I have experienced the same exact thing. It normally followed a gaggle of geese flying overhead - honest! The only thing I can figure is what they were eating (berries, etc.) before they decided to carpet bomb my ride! About all you can do is try to remove it as soon as possible because bird poop does contain "nasty stuff" that could eventually ruin your paint if left on...to date - no after affects on the paint.
