I have a 2010 Grand Caravan SXT. My wife has been having intermitten trouble getting it started. Maybe once a month she used to turn the key and nothing would happen, but then she would pull the key out, put it back in and start the van. lately it has been worse. The end of the key, where the panic button is, there is a peace of plastic that was broke off at some point. We called the local dodge and they said we need a new key chip. Does this sound like the case? I was searching on line and found there is a process to match a key with the van, is this a legit process?

Symptoms, the key is put in the ignition and turned to the run position and all the lights come on. When the key is moved to the start position, nothing happens.

the key will need to be programmed through the dealer..
