Default Help!! Waterpump outlet pipe broke

Hello,

I have a 2004 Caravan v6 3.3L. I was leaking Radiator fluid around the water pump. When I was changing the waterpump, I looked at the back of the pump housing and noticed the fluid was comming from the rubber hose the connects the waterpump outlet to the heater hose. I took off the rubber heater hose and noticed the little 2 inch pipe that connects to the back of the pump housing is rusted all the way though. Matter of fact, it broke off. Question is, has anyone ever came across this? Is this pipe pressed in? If it is, I can't find a lip on the inside of the pump housing. I used a screwdriver to see if I could find the lip of pipe and no joy. Should I get a dremmel and cut it the rest of the way off and try to find a pipe to press in or what. I could not find anything on the internet for it.

Thanks for the help.

I believe the only way to fix that is to replace the timing cover.

Default 2" pipe from rear of water pump on 3.3v6

Dude, I have the same problem, I just fixed it, I took an old heater core and cut the tube to length put some silicone on it and wedged it in tapping with a hammer
. Works great.

Wow - forced metal-to-metal in a pressurized cooling system. Hard to imagine silicone sealer holding up for long with all of the vibration and expansion/contraction happening. Good luck with it though!
