Default 99 dodge caravan bottom end rattling

I am replacing spark plugs and valve cover gasket soon, do the valves have any kind of adjustment? I have a 1999 dodge caravan 2.4 L 4 cyl engine. What is the head composed of in terms of valve operation. Does it contain rocker arms or does it have hydraulic valve lifters? I do not know as I never taken the valve cover off before or seen this head without one on and I would be pleased to know if there was any king of adjustment for the valves because I do hear a slight rattle from up top.

Welcome to DF
There are no adjustments for the rockers. The lifters are not adjustable. You could have a bad lifter. Once you get the valve cover off, inspect the top of the head that would cause you rattle sound.

Well it sounds faint coming from up top but I used a stethoscope and its actually coming from the bottom end of the motor. The second cylinder from the transmission, third one from the front of the motor. Its a loud rattling sound. I'm thinking bad bearings or something is way loose. Can it be the oil pump because Im hoping the bearings arent bad.... If I drop the pan is there any way I can tell if the bearings are bad? I dont have an oil pressure gauge, but can oil pumps make any kind of rattling noise?
