They are having a field tech from dodge come out to evaluate it so we will see. They have replaced everything and adjusted the door twice now.

My passenger side rear door sounds like the window is a little loose as well. I don't want to bring that up now too though... I'm supposed to pick up the van today. 6 weeks and 2 days later. Supposedly the mirror was the culprit and now they claim to be confident that the issue is addressed. I'm picking it up and driving it home. I don't care if I still hear it I'm done. I'm tired. I'm going to try to get Chrysler to pick up at least one car payment since I've made 2 while it's been in the shop and I have not had it. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully the problem is solved.

So following up, months later...
Wind noise is taken care of, it was the mirror the needed adjustment and sealant. However the remote start is still not working all the time. It starts everytime, but shuts off about 2-3 seconds later. I hear it start, then something engages that hums (not it's not the compressor, AC is off) but maybe a fan clutch or something with the alternator and then it dies. Starts fine inside the car with the key but does tend to idle a little rought on cold start up. I'm not sure what is cause the remote start issues, and yes, I'm doing it right. Got it to do it 4 times in a row today and it goes to the dealer again tonight. hopefully it will fail for them too, and they can diagnose the problem!

Default 2011 Grand Caravan Crew metal wind rattle in dash?!

I have a wind noise in my dash when i go above 50mph and/or on very windy days when on highway. It sounds like a metalic rattle behind the radio but only does it at high speeds/wind. Bumps etc doesn't make it happen. Also, holding the bezel, pressing on the dash etc doesn't help....any ever experience this in theirs?

thanks

Atually, some of these cars have records of "remote start Abort" in it's inhibitor monitor. Ask your dealer tech if he can pull up the files from the car and see if it helps.
There are many things that can cause the remote start to abort, such as:

Remote start equipped vehicles, sales code XBM, may remote start and then shut off for the following
reasons.
Low fuel lamp on or at fuel level of telltale lamp on.
Low Voltage below 11 V
High Voltage above 16 V
Key in Ignition
Doors or hood are opened before remote unlock
Hazard Switch depressed
Panic or theft alarm active
Brake applied
A prior remote start cranked the engine , but failed to start the engine
Battery voltage NOT in the normal range
High (run away) or Low Idle (stall) RPM
MIL Active
High Engine Coolant Temperature
Low Engine Oil Pressure
Remote start allows a maximum of two starts per ignition off cycle; cycling the ignition resets

Default 2012 Grand Caravan Remote Start

Just curious, is there a setting where your van will start automatically when the temperature gets too low? Eg. if it drops below 40 degrees in the winter your van starts up. If so, where do I change it?

Thanks for the help???

I am having nearly the same issue with my van, but it is a high pitched whistling noise coming from the dash on the passenger side. Have you been able to find any resolution to your problem? Does anyone else have a similar high pitched whistle noise coming from the front of the car on the passenger side?

Please help, I've had my van into the dealer 2 or 3 times now with at least one time someone riding with me to hear the noise, but they still haven't figured out where it's coming from.

Thanks!

The dealer took it for a drive and said that a shield (or something like that) in the front underneath had clips gone and the wind was causing the noise. They clipped/resecured the lose thing and it has been good since....I hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the reply - I will have them check for missing clips. So far they've replaced the piece under the windshield wipers that they thought was making the noise, but we still heard it the other day so it's time to take it in again :/.
