Default drain tranny fluid warm or cold?

I am going to change the tranny fluid in my '05 Grand Caravan 3.8 with AT.
Couple questions:
Drain cold or warm?
If I buy a gallon of ATF-4 is that enough?
Do you need RTV on the mounting flange of the pan, or is the gasket just fine alone?
Thanks!

I did my trans fluid/filter when it was cold

takes about 4 qts of atf+4 have 5 or 6 qts on hand just incase

I only used the MOPAR ATF-RTV and I used mopar filter, I did not use a gasket

I had no problems with the Atf-Rtv sealant, just make sure you wipe up the drip of trans fluid on the transmission right as your placing the pan on

Ok thx! I already have the aftermarket filter. It came with a gasket. But I read somewhere to use the sealant too. Or maybe it said to use the sealant in place of a gasket. I imagine the gasket will seal just fine.
Thx again for the info.
